rhodestar is the new star in the preamp universe and the most powerful preamplifier on the market.

Powerful equalizer

In addition to the classic and Rhodes-typical two-band Baxandall EQ with treble and bass controls rhodestar features a semiparametric midrange band where the cutoff frequency can be adjusted continuously. With the adjustable low-pass filter, you can get the most out of your Rhodes. Whether it's bell-like highs in Mark II style or the biting sound of an early Mark I.

The optical compressor reacts musically and never intrusively unless you want it to.

Dreamy tremolo

What's a Rhodes preamp without tremolo? The optical tremolo allows you to choose between two waveforms. This means you can achieve both the classic ping-pong tremolo and a modern sinusoidal modulation. The tremolo can also be switched to mono, allowing you to imitate popular Wurlitzer tremolo effects.

Powerful DSP

rhodestar features a powerful DSP with eight effects including reverb, chorus, phaser and more. The effects can be individually adjusted and a reverb is placed after each effect allowing up to three effects to be used simultaneously with rhodestar such as stereo tremolo -> phaser -> reverb.

Practical features for every situation

Whether in the studio, on stage, or at home, rhodestar offers a variety of practical features, including an integrated headphone amplifier for silent practice, XLR outputs with ground-lift for professional stage connectivity, footswitch inputs for remote control of tremolo and DSP and an effects loop for seamless integration of external effects.

Mine just arrived. I have been a Rhodes player since 1978 and have always wanted a Rhodes “channel strip” preamp to eliminate multiple devices in my recording chain. The Rhodestar sounds great, everything you need is in one box!!!

The Rhodestar is a great preamp and effects unit combo. I use it with an active Vintage Vibe piano using the effects send socket, which is the same signal that comes directly from the harp. I had a Rhodes Suitcase piano back in the 1980s and wish this device had been available then! The Mid control on the EQ allows you to dial in that Dyno-My-Piano sound, not otherwise possible with just Treble and Bass controls. The stereo vibrato and effects are very versatile, giving you great sounding reverb, delay, chorus, phaser, flanger and auto-wah. These are all the effects that are commonly used with tine pianos. Because of signal processing limitations, the reverb on knob 3 that can be added to the non-stereo reverb effects is mono, but on stereo effects such as chorus this does not really matter. If I want a stereo reverb on the mono effects such as phaser, I can simply plug a stereo reverb pedal into the effects loop on the back. The unit is virtually noise-free, even when the Treble control is set to maximum.

Overall, this is a fantastic preamp + effects unit suitable for all tine pianos!
